Mark Erb, Licenced Funeral Director and Owner

Born and raised in Wellesley, Mark began his career in funeral service at Futher Brothers Funeral Home in Wellesley.
He was hired in 1982 by Edward R. Good.  Recently, Mark, along with Rob Wintonyk have become co-owners of the funeral home.
Married to Shelley Erb (Foerster), they reside in the town of Elmira. They have 2 daughters, Kimberly (Shawn Green) and Stephanie (Ben Gunn). Shelley and Mark enjoy spending time with their family and their grandchildren Aleenah and Evan Green, Addison and Kenzie Gunn.
Mark is a member of the Rotary Club Kitchener-Westmount, enjoys playing WOHL Hockey in Elmira and is an area scout for the Elmira Sugar Kings Jr. B Hockey Club.

Rob Wintonyk, Licenced Funeral Director and Owner

Born in Yorkton Saskatchewan, Rob began his Funeral Service Career with Mcinnis and Holloway Funeral Homes in Calgary in 1993. During the apprenticeship program, he received his Funeral Director's and Embalmer's License through the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science under the care of the Alberta Funeral Service Association. Rob received the Professional Service Award at Graduation. After enjoying 10 years in Calgary, Rob and his wife Karen relocated to Kitchener Ontario becoming a co-owner of Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in 2009. They have two daughters and enjoy all genres of music as well as spending time with their family. They are members of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Kitchener and Rob volunteers his time as a member of the Kitchener Conestoga Rotary Club, is past president of the Central Ontario Funeral Director's Association and is proud to serve on the executive of the Ontario Funeral Service Association representing Independently owned funeral homes in Ontario.

Jim Erb, Licenced Funeral Director

Jim was born and raised in Waterloo Region. He attended public school in Wellesley, high school in Elmira and graduated from the Canadian School of Embalming, Toronto, 1968. He has been at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home for 37 years, and a partner for nearly 30 years. Jim and his wife Marianne (Schmidt) are the proud parents of 3 sons; Michael and his wife Diana, David and his wife Leanne Baer, Rudy Vincent and Brandi Barens and five wonderful grandchildren, Katie, Jacquie, Cecilia, James, Oliver and Elliott . Jim has been involved in numerous community organizations and interfaith initiatives. Marianne and Jim are active members of Erb Street Mennonite Church in Waterloo.

Paul Good, Licenced Funeral Director, ret.

Born in Stouffville ON, Paul came to Waterloo with his parents Edward and Rhea in 1946. They lived above the funeral home and attended Alexandra School, Waterloo and graduated from W.C.I. Paul joined the funeral home in 1965 after graduating from the Canadian School of Embalming. Paul is married to Sharon (Orth) with three children; Cheryl (Rob) McKean, Heather Good, and Steven Good. Paul is a member and elder of Grace Lutheran Church, Kitchener, past president of Central Ontario Funeral Service Association, and has been involved with the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce for over 30 years. Paul enjoys his retirement playing hockey with the K-W Oldtimers, skiing, golfing, sailing, and fishing.

Paula has been part of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home team since 1994. She also received her training at Humber College, and served her internship with Jerrett Funeral Homes in Toronto. Paula now resides in St. Agatha, where she is an active member of the community. She attends St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, and is a member of the Catholic Women's League.

Dan Nesseth, Licenced Funeral Director

Dan was born in Sarnia, Ontario and, after a family move, began his career as a funeral director in the small rural community of Rodney, at Padfield Funeral Home. After ten years of owning his own funeral home in Drayton, Ont., he moved back to Sarnia to continue his profession with Smith Funeral Home. Seventeen years later, he started at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, and continues to enjoy serving the community as a funeral director. Dan is happily married to Carolyn (for over 30 years), and have two children, Joy and Jonathan.

Steven Brunton, Licenced Funeral Director

Raised on a farm southwest of the village of Ayr, Waterloo Region, Steven spent his time shared between farm duties and rural activities. He went on to work several years in the farm machinery business before becoming a funeral director and joining the firm in 2005. Steven is actively involved in his hometown Ayr as a 20 plus year volunteer firefighter, 30 plus year member of the Ayr Paris Band, long time board member of Christ Anglican Church, Ayr. Steven and his wife Ann have two children, Jessica and Ian.

Born in Listowel and raised on a farm near Monkton, Greg came to the Kitchener-Waterloo area in 1990. In 1994, he graduated from the University of Waterloo, Renison College, with a BA in Social Development Studies. He went on to graduate from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College in 1997 and apprenticed at R.S. Kane in North York. Greg has been part of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home team since October 2004.

Born in London, Ontario, Lauren came to the area in 1994, when her father, Rev. Robert Bugbee agreed to serve at Holy Cross Lutheran Church Kitchener. She received her professional training at Humber College and served her internship through Jerrett Funeral Homes in Toronto. graduating with honours, Lauren accepted a position with the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home. In her spare time she participates with choir and Sunday school program of Holy Cross Church and serves as Secretary for Concordia Lutheran Mission Society of Canada.

Patrick graduated from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College, completed his apprenticeship with Erb & Good Family Funeral Home and received his Funeral Director’s Licence in 1990. Born and raised in Waterloo, Patrick lives in Kitchener and has five children. Patrick is a longtime member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and the Kitchener Lion’s Club.

Les was born in Bruce County and was raised on a farm near Tara, Ontario.  He received his professional training through Humber College.  Les started his career in agriculture, working with the farming community in the Alliston, Teeswater and Elmira areas.  He and his wife, Vicky, have lived in Elmira since 1995.  They have three daughters, Candace MacKenzie (Peter), Crystal and April Albano (Josh).  He is an active member of the Gale Presbyterian Church in Elmira having served on the Steering Committee as Fundraising Co-chair for its recent building project.  Les enjoys curling and spending time at his cottage in Point Clark.

Kathy Kunz, Office Manager / Bookkeeping

Kathy Kunz was born in Germany and raised in Kitchener. She has been employed with Erb & Good Family Funeral Home since 1993. Kathy is a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Philipsburg. Kathy is the proud mother of Tammy Wagler (Reg) and Christina Mulligan. She is the proud Oma of her three beautiful grandchildren, Shelby, Cassidy and Alexander. She enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

Emily was born and raised in Kitchener. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2009 with a BA in Sociology with the Administration Option. After working for three years in the not-for-profit sector she joined Erb & Good Family Funeral home in 2012.

Brian McKague, Facility Services and Funeral Director Assistant

Brian was born in Wingham Ontario. Brian is married to Adora,  together they have two married children and three grandchildren. Prior to Erb & Good, Brian worked in the broadcasting industry for thirty two years. Brian has worked with the Erb & Good staff team since 2001.  

Doug Jarvie, Facility Services and Funeral Director Assistant

Doug was born and raised in Cambridge, Galt. He spent forty years working in the financial services industry. Doug is an active member of a local Toastmaster club and a Optimist Club Member. Doug joined the Erb & Good team in 2009.
